Our flight from Sao Paulo to Belem got canceled, had to stay in the airport for rearrangement of flight.

Despite the cancelation of our Varig flight to Belem, we were able to catch a TAM flight from Sao Paulo (CGH) through Rio de Janeiro (GIG) and arrived at Belem at 1:30am on 6/22.

On the plane, the news paper reported that 118 Varig flights were cancelled 6/21, and there were passengers stranded for 11+ hours. Our delay of 3 hours seems quite minor in comparison, but we had to wait through 5 hours of paper work, and missed an opportunity to see Sao Paulo Downtown.

Dad was able to get through to us on our new cell phone, 20min after my posting, I love the global telecommunication infrastructure :-)
