Frommer's Brazil, 3rd Edition: This tour book is fresh off the press in 2006, and their 3 star rating system is great for visiting selective highlights under tight schedule constraints. Althrough the hotel selection in this tour book is towards the high end, with little info about hotels under $20 a night.
Lonely Planet: Brazil, 6th Edition: With 748 pages, this tour book is like a dictionary with all you'll want to know about Brazil. Althrough filled with details, it lacks a rating system to show the relative importance of the sights, and could be overwhelming. However, once you know where you want to go, the maps in this book is more detailed than many city tour maps. Also, the hotel selection here contains some truely budget hotels, even under $10 a night.
