Day 2: Tour Old Dehli, take train to AgraHighlights: * Jike getting "mugged" near the spice market - it was very well planned as he was "naturally" cornered on all sides by bike, 2 wheel cart, and pedestrians... but don't worry, he had less than a dollar in that pocket, and Cathy grabbed the mugger's hand before he could touch any rupees :). * Touring Shahjahanabad, the Old Dehli - We loved the interior and exterior planning of the palace buildings where nature was used ingeniously for human comfort: water air conditioning, rings to hang canopy during monsoon season, wall and ceilings of mirros and precious stones, etc) * Bird hospital - lonely planet suggested this one was overrated, but we had an interesting experience there: we and a German woman wanted out the whole time we were there because the caretaker would make references such as "this one has the flu." Most of the conversation there took place in either Chinese or German. Took train from Delhi to Agra (traveling by train got us a lot of attention as if people had never seen any Chinese before). Stayed at Hotel Sheela just steps away from the Taj Mahal: Hotel evaluation: |
